Reports: Tim Allen Pulled Over

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Tim Allen failed several
sobriety tests after police stopped him for driving his 1988
Ferrari at 70 mph in a 40 mph zone in this Detroit suburb,
newspapers reported today.
The ``Home Improvement'' star was given a drunken driving
ticket, police confirmed today.
The 43-year-old entertainer appeared unsteady when he was
stopped Friday evening, smelled of alcohol, and failed sobriety
tests that included reciting the alphabet, counting backwards and
standing on one leg, The Oakland Press and The Detroit News
reported, citing a police report.
``From all accounts Mr. Allen cooperated with authorities during
the time he was questioned and in custody,'' Bloomfield Township
Police Lt. James Anas said today.
A test indicated a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent, the
Press reported. A level of 0.10 percent is considered legally drunk
in Michigan. He was released on $100 bond, the Press said.
Allen entered no plea Tuesday to a charge of operating under the
influence of intoxicating liquor, said a township court clerk who
spoke today on condition she not be identified. Papers filed by his
lawyer remove the need for a personal appearance at an arraignment,
she said.
Allen's lawyer, Michael Novak, did not immediately return a
telephone call for comment today.
The actor was in Baltimore filming a movie and was unavailable
for comment, said his Los Angeles-based publicist Marleah Leslie.
Allen, whose real name is Timothy Alan Dick, has a home in the
Detroit suburb of Beverly Hills.
In addition to his ABC series, he scored a megahit with the film
``The Santa Clause'' and wrote the best-seller ``Don't Stand Too
Close to a Naked Man.''
A hearing was scheduled for June 25.
