About "The Boys"

ZACHERY TY BRYAN (Brad Taylor) shares the same hometown, Denver, as his series dad Tim Allen. Zachery got his start as an actor at the age of five, appearing in print ads and television commecials in the local Denver area. When an acting coach from New York spotted him and suggested his parents enroll him in an entertainment camp in the Catskills, the interest young Zachery attracted promtped his family to give New York a try, where Zachery quickly booked national spots for Burger King, Coldwell Banker, and Ralph Lauren.

He recently appeared in the Cheryl Ladd telefilm "Crash: The Mystery of Flight 1501," and worked as Brian Bozworth's son in the film "Stone Cold," although the storyline that included him was ultimately left out in the movie. On stage, he played a street urchin in a Denver production of "Cabaret."

Zachery, who turns 11 in October, has just relocated with his family to Los Angeles from Denver. A competitive soccer player, he is one of the top defenders in the state of Colorado.

TARAN NOAH SMITH (Mark Taylor) landed his first job at the age of six months, appearing on the cover of "Baby News," a retail store catalogue devoted to merchandise for infants and toddlers. At eight months, he launched his television career, starring in a Mervyn's commercial.

Since then, Taran has been seen in numerous commercials, catalogues, and print ads for J.C. Penney, Macy's, and other retail stores. "Home Improvement" is his first series role.

Now eight, Taran spent the first four years of his life on a 41-foot wooden power boat docked at Sausalito, Ca. He and his family now live in San Rafael, where Taran loves dirt-biking and flying with his dad in the family's two-seater airplane.

JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS (Randy Taylor) was born in Bethlehem, Pa., and moved with his family to Sacramento six years ago. A child model and commercial performer, Jonathan has appeared in national spots for Burger King, Canon camcorders, and Kellogg's, among others.

His first television acting role was as the son of Greg Brady in the recent comedy series "The Bradys." He also appeared in industrial films and played a double role as Tiny Tim and young Scrooge in a production of "Scrooge" at the Chatauque Theater in Sacramento.

Jonathan, 11, is an avid sport fisherman who dreams of someday fishing for halibut in the waters of Alaska. His biggest catch to date is a three-foot yellowtail -- almost as big as Jonathan himself -- which he caught off the coast of Mexico.
